Traveling To and From the Rand International Airport

Rand International Airport is a large airport in Germiston, near Johannesburg. It was built in the 1930s as the main international airport for Johannesburg but the number of people who were flying to and from South Africa in that era outstripped the number of people who came there.

The terminal buildings of the airport are built in a close, central location at the Germiston railway station. This means that you can get to the airport from both sides of the station. This is quite easy if you know where you want to go - if you are travelling to the city of Johannesburg you can easily make your way down the street to get to the nearest train station, or alternatively if you are travelling to Durban or Masiphumelelele then you could easily take a taxi or a bus to get to the other end of the railway line.

You could also take a tram or bus from the Germiston rail station to the downtown areas. You could do this in a single day. However, if you are travelling to other parts of South Africa then you will need to spend a lot more time on your journey to your final destination. This is why it is recommended that you get off the trains as you get off and take the buses or taxis to the different places.

You will find the terminals of the Germiston airport very similar to the terminals of other airports in South Africa. The only difference is that they are smaller. If you have a plane coming to South Africa then you should arrive at least three hours before the scheduled time so that you are not too late. The reason that it is recommended that you get off the trains is because the bus and taxis will not take you anywhere else. If you are not planning to travel anywhere else, then you would be better getting off the trains, finding a taxi or bus, and taking one of the buses that takes you to the different places in South Africa that are close to where you will be travelling to.

If you are travelling somewhere else then you will need to make time for yourself to explore the different places. There is a big statue at the airport that is very impressive. You should also visit the Albert Park Botanical Gardens in Germiston. If you are planning to walk through the city then you would be well advised to use the metro. This will save you from having to spend an hour or two searching through the streets for a taxi. The buses that you will find in the vicinity of Germiston will take you all over the place and then some.

Once you have explored the area of the Germiston airport, you may want to stay overnight in a guesthouse in the area. There is a lot to do and see in Germiston. You could stay in a hostel or you could stay at a luxury hotel. There are many options available depending on what you want to do.
